About 4,000 recruits reported
to Kenya Police Training
College in Kiganjo, Nyeri on
Wednesday ahead of their
training.
There was tight security at the
camp as some arrived as early
as 7am following the
recruitment exercise on
Monday.
The recruits who said they
were devoted to defending
the country were screened
about 500 metres from the
college along Nyeri-Chaka
road.
Parents lauded the
government for admitting
them immediately saying it
showed seriousness in the war
against crime.
“The job has now begun,” said
Nakuru recruit Mark Mureithi.
Journalists were not allowed
into the college amid the
arrival of the recruits which will
continue until Saturday.
No college official was
available to address the
media.
