The Manchester United captain,
who has been at Old Trafford
for eight years and won the
Champions League along with
five Premier
League triumphs, is set for a
move to Italy – with Inter Milan,
Roma, AC Milan and Juventus all
chasing him.
Serbian Vidic is 32 and like all
players over 30 at United, he
was offered a one-year deal.
But the lure of a longer contract
on the continent has seen him
decide to quit at the end of the
season.
“It’s the last year of my contract
and I have had eight wonderful
years here,” said Vidic. “My time
at this great club will always
rank as the best years of my
career.
